Davis County Development Policy

Davis County has limited ability to provide the urban services normally required in highly developed areas, such as water service, garbage pick-up, police and fire protection, road maintenance, and so on. The Davis County Commission believes that municipalities are best suited to provide urban services, therefore, development proposals are encouraged to annex into nearby cities wherever feasible.

Licensing

Davis County Business License applications are for businesses within the unincorporated areas of Davis County. If you have any questions about what jurisdiction you reside in, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Home Occupations require a business license as well as a Conditional Use Application in most residential zones. Please contact the Planning Department if you intend on operating a home occupation located within the unincorporated county only.
