Community Cat Spay/Neuter Services:

We are proud to offer free spay and neuter services for community cats in Davis County. This initiative helps reduce the stray and feral cat population, improves the health and well-being of these animals, and contributes to a more compassionate community. If you’re caring for community cat and are able to catch them yourself, no appointment is needed, please bring them in during business hours, or have an officer pick them up from your home by calling 801-444-2200, option 3. If you need assistance catching the community cat, reach out to our Community Cat Officer. NOTE: There is a 40 + person wait list for our Community Cat Officer's assistance.

We do not offer dog or owned cat spay/neuter procedures. Pro Pet Care in Roy is the closest low cost spay/neuter clinic in the area. See other low cost options by clicking here

Vaccines

To make it easier for all Davis County residents, vaccines are no longer administered at the shelter but are brought right to your neighborhood! With our regular mobile community clinics, we strive to bring vaccines and microchips to different locations within the county each month. Keep an eye on our social media or watch the website for dates. It could be right next door!

NEXT CLINIC: February 1, 2025

Dogs:

Your canine companion should get regular vaccinations to protect them from common canine diseases. Our monthly clinics can provide DH2PP (Parvo/Distemper Combo), Bordetella (Kennel Cough), and rabies when available.

Cats:

Your feline friend needs some special love too! Feline vaccinations protect your cat against several common diseases. Our monthly clinics can provide FVRCP (rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia) and rabies when available.

Temporary Assistance

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes circumstances arise that make it difficult to care for your pet as you would like. To support our community, we offer free temporary boarding through our Safe Haven program for pets whose owners are facing emergencies or temporary hardships, as space allows. Additionally, we provide free pet food assistance to ensure that pets continue to receive proper nourishment during difficult times. If you’re in need of these services, please reach out to us—we’re here to help ensure that no pet goes without the care they deserve.

Rehoming Resources

If you find that you've exhausted all other resources, Animal Care of Davis County accepts owner-surrendered pets, however, we encourage you to list your pet for adoption on our rehoming platform for at least two weeks prior to scheduling a surrender appointment.

If you are surrendering your pet for behavioral issues, it is important to be honest with us about the issues your pet is experiencing. This will help us find the right home for them, and sometimes, just changing the environment the animal is in can be the path to success. For example, a pet that doesn't get along with kids or other animals should be placed with a family that has no children or other pets in the home. Other times, your pet's behavior may unknowingly be remedied with simple solutions and with our resources, you might be able to keep your pet in your home after receiving the help we can provide.

If your animal might have medical needs that you can no longer care for, we ask that you bring thorough medical documentation from your primary veterinarian so that we can confer with them and continue the care as needed.

Animal Care of Davis County only accepts owner surrendered animals from residents of Davis County.
