TOP Star is a free Continuing Education Program for childcare providers designed to help providers improve the quality of the nutrition, physical activity, and breastfeeding environments in their child care facility. From birth to age 5 a child's brain develops more than any other time in life. Early childhood years are critical to supporting a child's development and growth that can encourage life lasting healthy habits.

Benefits for Centers:

Providers benefit from this program by knowing the changes that are implemented in their facility will have life long impact on the children they care for. Becoming TOP Star endorsed can also increase the facilities marketability by promoting their endorsement to parents and the community. Child care providers will have access to free resources including: online training modules, quarterly newsletters, & monthly lesson plans all through your local TOP Star consultant. Endorsement is valid for three years.

Benefits for Families:

Parents benefit from the TOP Star program by knowing their child is in a healthy environment, parents will also receive quarterly newsletters that have been distributed to participating centers to offer ideas and information of ways to bring these healthy habits into the home. The early years are the best time for children to develop lifelong habits that reduce the risk of obesity and chronic diseases and make the healthy choice the easy choice.
