Internal Audits

Through the provisions of Title 17 of the Utah State Code, the Auditor is authorized to audit the financial records and accounts of any county office or department, except for the auditor’s own office, which is audited annually by an external auditing firm.

Performance Audits

The Auditor may also conduct a performance audit, including the review of county programs, operations, policies, and management activities, with the direction and supervision of the Davis County Board of Commissioners. A performance audit involves an audit of the integrity of an office, the accuracy of financial information and management reporting, compliance with statute, ordinance, and policy, adequacy of safeguarding of public funds, and operational performance.

Tax Rates

These are the Final Tax Rates assessed by each taxing entity servicing the tax district listed. The Total Factor includes County-wide entity's tax rates (i.e the Davis School District, County Library, County Jail, and State and County Assessing and Collecting, etc.) and are shown above the grid.

Budget

The Davis County budget is a representation of the priorities and goals of the community. The budget cycle runs January through December, with processes that are followed to meet the needs of the residents while maintaining a balanced budget.

Purchasing

Purchasing is an integral part of Davis County Government and is a division of the Davis County Auditor’s Office. Davis County Departments utilize our Purchasing Department and its excellent, professionally trained staff to procure goods and services in the most efficient, economical, and timely manner. The purchasing staff utilizes the Davis County financial policies and procedures as they follow through on a strong pledge to serve the citizens of Davis County at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer. This is accomplished through efficient planning and management including centralized and volume purchasing. Competitive bidding and other open competition practices are utilized to insure fairness in County transactions.

Tax Administration

Tax Administration department administers: Abatement's, Delinquent Property Tax Sale, Exempt status of properties in Davis County and the Real and Personal Property Tax Appeals.
