Found Property Notice

To claim ownership of found/recovered property one must provide a current picture ID as well as proof of ownership of the item in the form of either a purchase receipt or by description of specific distinguishing item features (including VIN or Serial Numbers if they pertain to the item).

To make a claim or for questions pertaining to lost or recovered property, please contact:

If unclaimed, found/recovered property items currently in the possession of the Property and Evidence Unit of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab will be applied to public interest use or destroyed pursuant to Utah Code 77-24a-D.

Portable Audio/Video Recorders

The Davis County Sheriff's Office may provide members with access to portable recorders, either audio or video or both, for use during the performance of their duties.

Automated License Plate Readers

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance for the capture, storage, and use of digital data obtained through the use of the automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology (Utah Code 41-6a-2003).
